This is Mel playing with Buttons, their dog.
This is the Sagamore Hotel on Lake George. I would cost a whole paycheck to stay her for one night!!
We were told to park (if there was no guard at the gate) and walk right in. If anyone asks us anything, just tell them we were eating lunch there (big lie!). We had a good time acting like we belonged there.
This horse and carriage took guests around the hotel grounds. I was not impressed as the horse was a little on the thin side and he needed a bath in the worst way (no reason for a horse to smell that way unless he is stabled in filth!). I kinda felt bad for him.
Roz bet me an ice cream that these flowers were fake. She owes me an ice cream!! They were very real and beautiful.
We walked down to the dock and took in the view. Beautiful was an understatement.
One of the "sitting rooms" we guessed.
We presumed was one of the dining rooms.
Another view from the back of the hotel.
We went to the top of Prospect Mountain. You can see Vermont from the top. This is about half way up looking north.
This is from the top. Vermont would be on the right side of the photo.
This is looking west into the Adirondacks.
There was a hotel at the top of this mountain at the turn of the century. This is all that is left of the railway that brought guests to the top. See next photo.
I forgot my tripod so the top of my purse served the purpose of this shot. This is kind of looking east, a little toward the south.
One of Mel's birds....:)
Not sure what she has in her mouth. She flew away with it.
